Fujiwara no Teishi (b. 977 – d. 1001) was a Japanese empress and the daughter of Fujiwara no Michinaga, a powerful statesman of the Heian period. She became a consort of Emperor Ichijo and eventually his empress. She was known for her beauty and intelligence and was highly respected by other members of the court. She was central to the politics of the time and worked to promote the interests of her family the Fujiwara clan. Her influence extended beyond the court, and she was known for her patronage of the arts, including poetry and music. Despite her short life, she is remembered as a powerful and influential figure in Japanese history.
